Get Ready to be Inspired Come join CAWLM and the Aitch Foundation for the Inspiration and Influence Awards on Oct. 18, 2018 from 6 to 8:30 at the Crowne Plaza.

CAWLM and the Aitch Foundation have come together to shine a light on heroes in the mid-Michigan area that inspire, impact, imagine and influence change in our communities. These distinguished awards will recognize leaders in the areas of community impact, women’s advancement, medical research and award the mid-Michigan Woman of the Year. We’re also pleased to announce our keynote speaker for the event will be Laura Grannemann, vice president of strategic investments for Quicken Loans Community Investments Fund.

Grannemann is a graduate of Georgetown University whose education was focused internationally on China and Burma. She’s successfully applied that methodology to be useful in the economic and social development of the city of Detroit.

Grannemann has led projects that help bring together community, as well as public and private partners like Rehabbed & Ready, Motor City Mapping, Neighbor to Neighbor and the Rent to Own program. This work has affected tens of thousands of Detroit residents, allowing families to stay in their homes, become homeowners, and build equity and opportunity. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Urban Land Institute, Fox News, and more.

Grannemann is indeed inspiring and influential, and we can’t wait to hear her story.
